DAE Sports and Cultural Council in collaboration with BARC Staff Club is happy to announce the All India DAE Trekking Expedition in the Himalayas "TREK THE HIMALAYA-9 " to be conducted during September 10th to September 19th , 2017 in “in ‘Kuari pass-Vinayak passAuli” region of Uttarakhand. This will be a 10 days long trekking activity scheduled along old trekking trails, camping at scenic spots on the way

ROUTE AND SCHEDULE
Kuari Pass trek: “Kuari Pass trek” is a moderate to Difficult trek, originating in “Ghat - Selu Bagar” village of Garhwal Himalayas and ends at Auli-Joshimath. The Kuari Pass trek is a highly beautiful & scenic trek. The main attraction of it is the imposing view of the eastern peaks of Garhwal Himalayas, the twin peaks of Nanda Devi, Kamet, Dronagiri, Trishul, Bertholi, Hathi Ghodi Parvat, Mana, and Neelkanth peaks. The trek passes through three lesser Passes &
five major rivers - the Pinder, Kaliganga, Nandakini, Birehiganga & Dhauli Ganga. The Trail cross through various Pristine Rhododendron, oak and deodar forest. This trek provides good opportunity to spot Himalayan flora and fauna enroute. The maximum altitude encountered during trek is 13990ft. .

PARTICIPATION
This is an open event with past trekking experience. The participants should be prepared to walk 7 to 8 hours everyday, at this altitude. Participation would be subject to following

conditions:
1 Only DAE employees can participate in this event.
2 Number of participants would be limited to 25, including (2 Camp Leaders) 8 from units other than Mumbai zone and 15 from DAE Units in Mumbai Zone (as defined in DAE Annual trek).
3 Medical certificate regarding fitness for the trek at this altitude is compulsory for all participants.
4 Participants shall give an undertaking that they are willingly participating in the Trek on their own and not holding the organisers responsible for any damage due to accident or any medical emergency to the individual.
5 Travel subsidy will not be given to any participant.
6 Travel up to Haridwar and back will be borne by the participants
7 The total participation fee of Rs.12,500/- out of which Rs.11,000/- is payable by the participants with the form after taking into account the subsidy of Rs. 1,500/- being provided by DAE Sports & Cultural Council.8 Participants must co-operate with camp leaders and fellow participants. In any case, Camp leaders decision will be final.
9 Discharge will be tentatively on 18th or 19th September from Joshimath depending on the weather condition and other logistics. Expenses post discharge is to be borne by the particpants. However, vehicles has been arranged from Joshimath to Haridwar for all participants.
LEAVE
Participating employees would be entitled for Special Casual Leave as per rules. Necessary approval for the expedition is being sought from Indian Mountaineering Foundation for this purpose. Participants are required to take prior provisional sanction of leave for this from respective leave sanctioning authority.
ENROLMENT
Enrolment would be done on the receipt of individual enrolment forms, completed in all respects and accompanied by requisite participation fees.
SELECTION
Selection for participation in the Trek will be done based on the performance, stamina, team spirit, etc. observed during the selection trial trek being arranged for the purpose. It is mandatory to participate in the selection trial trek being arranged in the Sahyadris.
